“We are encouraged by the news that Broomfield City Council didn’t move forward with a proposed moratorium on oil and gas operations, and that Extraction Oil & Gas Inc. would temporarily withdraw its applications with the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission for proposed sites that are close to houses… we are confident that, when calmer heads prevail, there are compromises to be found: additional state-wide rigid rules or local bans would make those compromises more difficult"

"Recall is an important tool for citizens, but it should be reserved for malfeasance, corruption and incapacity on the part of a politician, not for policy disagreements."
Former Broomfield Mayor Pat Quinn
“Neither the Task Force nor the forum would have occurred if it were not for the diligence of our Mayor Pro tem Greg Stokes, with whom I have worked closely for eight years. Trust me when I say I understand the range of emotions felt by our residents when the city tells them that it has limited resources, but blaming Mr. Stokes is simply misdirected."
Thornton Mayor Heidi Williams
"I am writing to offer my support of Mayor Pro Tem Greg Stokes who has been unfairly targeted by an effort to recall him at the end of his second term. Mayor Pro Tem Stokes is one of the most thoughtful members of these boards, and has valuable and insightful input to offer the other directors when we are contemplating a difficult decision... These recall efforts are truly distracting and costly to the cities in which they affect."
Northglenn Mayor Joyce Downing
I have worked with Mayor Pro Tem Greg Stokes for several years and find this effort of a recall extremely unfortunate and divisive. Greg is one of the more ethical individuals I have ever worked with. He makes educated decisions putting the needs of Broomfield and his constituents first. Vote NO...on this recall!
Westminster Mayor Herb Atchison
“It has been my personal privilege to not only get to know Greg as a public official in Broomfield but to serve on at least two metro-wide boards serving the entire metro area with him. His leadership on these boards is of impeccable quality and of the highest ethical standards. This type of leadership and commitment to the betterment of a community could not be better demonstrated by anyone as well as Greg has done. This recall issue in my opinion should never have gotten any support."
Arvada Mayor Marc Williams
"I was very sorry to hear that Greg is the subject of a recall petition. I believe this recall attempt is without merit, and would deprive Broomfield of a valuable public servant. I am further troubled that this expensive and divisive recall election is being held so close to the end of his term. I urge the good citizens of Broomfield to vote "No" on the Recall."
North Metro Fire District Board Bob Nielson
"None of us who reside in Ward 4 want what Extraction has proposed. But, our council is still in its negotiations stages with them, and it is far too soon to know the final outcome. In my 40-plus years of experience in local government, I have dealt with and/or worked with many elected officials on Greg's level. Now I see someone who I consider to be one of the most dedicated and professional elected officials I have known - Greg Stokes. Greg is acting for us, not against us."
